"What's in My Makeup Kit?" features my favorite makeup item in my makeup box.
Today's item is "Opsite Tape" for prosthetic emergencies & blood effects.
This is a non-latex flexible medical tape for skin protection and attaching medical sensors. Since it is translucent, I use this for prosthetic emergencies. Sometimes, after many hours of filming with a prosthetic, edges get peeled and do not go back to the skin anymore. Then, I use this tape. I trim it into small pieces and tape it over the messy prosthetic edges. And I spray skin tone over it. It is not perfect; however, it will not keep flapping, and the camera does not focus on the horrible edges anymore.
For example, I use it for bald cap edges, bald cap rips, attaching tubing on prosthetics, fake nail reattachment, tacking down thick hair under prosthetics, etc.
Another popular way of using this tape is to create a bladder (flat blood tubing). I explained this in the lesson video here. I normally use latex to create blood tubing, but when I do not have enough time, Opsite tape comes in handy.
